Together with the Federal Chancellery, we are inviting you to the dialogue event “Digital Transformation: Challenges for Democratic Processes”. Digital transformation is changing democratic processes and presenting new challenges in terms of the integrity and transparency of political systems. While social media, for example, is reshaping public opinion and access to information and opening up opportunities, it is also creating risks through disinformation and unequal digital participation.

Selected research teams will be presenting their research findings at the dialogue event. In the subsequent discussion rounds, practitioners will comment on the findings before taking part in the plenary discussion. The event is aimed at representatives from politics and administration at the federal, cantonal and municipal levels, stakeholders from the media and civil society, and other interested individuals.

The presentations will be held in the national languages of German and French. Attendance is free of charge. The number of places is limited. Register by 15 October 2024.

Dialogue events on various key topics are being held as part of National Research Programme 77 “Digital Transformation” (NRP 77). Research findings are presented, and their practical relevance discussed at the dialogue events. All dialogue events are open to the public and free of charge.
