NRP 77 dialogue events: four public events held in autumn 2024
Together with its partners, NRP 77 organised four dialogue events at which selected research results were presented and their practical relevance discussed.
In order to ensure the exchange of knowledge relating to digital transformation research, an in-depth exchange between researchers and practitioners is required. To promote this exchange, NRP 77 – together with its partners – organised a series of dialogue events in autumn 2024. Research results relating to four different key topics were presented and discussed in view of their practical relevance.
"Digital readiness of the Swiss education system" on 24 September 2024
The first dialogue event took place on 24 September. Together with Educa, NRP 77 invited participants to discuss the “digital readiness of the Swiss education system”. During the half-day event, three research teams presented their findings about the digitalisation of education.
A more detailed report of the event can be found here.
"Digital transformation: challenges for democratic processes" on 25 October 2024
The second dialogue event on 25 October highlighted the impact of digital transformation on democratic processes in Switzerland. Following an introduction by Federal Chancellor Viktor Rossi, four research teams presented their findings. Selected practitioners then commented on the results. This event took place in collaboration with the Federal Chancellery.
Further information on the results of the event can be found here.
"Skills, job profiles and professions: how the labour market is being transformed" on 5 November 2024
The third dialogue event took place on 5 November and focused on the digital transformation and its impact on the labour market. The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) was the presenting partner. Researchers from four research teams presented their results. In the subsequent breakout sessions, practitioners, researchers and the audience were given the opportunity to engage in dialogue and exchange views on the research findings.

"Regulation of AI: risks, rights and responsibilities" on 26 November 2024
The fourth and final dialogue event addressed the topic of the “Regulation of AI: risks, rights and responsibilities”. The event took place on 26 November and was organised in cooperation with the Federal Office of Justice. Selected research teams presented their findings on the consequences of AI for regulation and legal practice. In the subsequent plenary discussion, practitioners categorised the research results before opening the discussion to the audience. It was a fitting conclusion to this series of events.

NRP 77 would like to thank all participants, researchers and practitioners for their contributions to these dialogue events.
